Hey Aaron, thanks so much for making this game! It was a blast (pun intended) playing this game, the ending definitely caught me off guard and I guess that it was something the main character of your game wished for, taking it out of context of course. I loved the music and the VA, the graphics were simple but very aesthetic, I do like the color red BTW. Also, thanks for hitting me with moral questions and choices, that was fantastic.
Hi there, I unfortunately knew the story, so I think a lot of the things a fresh-faced player might enjoy were already spoiled for me. As such, I would have liked a bit more character and world building, to add to the original story and get more immersed. But I do think for anyone watching this who doesn't know the original story, it's a real treat.
And it was definitely interesting enough for me to follow you and see what else you developed (I see you’re super prolific) because I did enjoy the overall idea of a story-adaption and your stylistic ideas.
When I saw this game at first, I immediately saved it as a bookmark to review it later and it delivered the best, highest quality content for me.
To start with just simple visuals - nothing too fancy, nothing too complicated, rather simple and imaginative. The art for this game blew me away, because you used simple colors and made something unimaginable, which I respect very deeply.
Aside being a fan, I tried to look at this game objectively and I just could not find the tiniest flaw in anything - mechanics, voice acting, sound design, the looks, everything is fantastic.
I love science fiction a lot, I tried to make my own print on the genre, but this is something different, as the ending twist, which I won't spoil for anyone reading this is so cliché, yet, it has a huge impact and deeper understanding as who we, humans really are or can be in the future.
Not to bore with more reading, which was the opposite for the game - lot's of intuitive notes and information, I believe this game deserves more praise and applause.
Thanks Aaron, for giving your best all the time and I am looking forward to another masterpiece. Cheers!
That was a good game, wow I liked this one a lot, They Look Like People has an interesting story to offer, tied with the protagonist's backstory, exploration, interactions, events, everything, the game feels rich and carefully crafted. Usually I'm not a fan of reading in video games but getting to know more in the short logs and emails in the computer and presenting that as something optional actually made quite a big impact, making me feel like I discovered that and I now know more of what's going on, but of course, the game proved me wrong with the ending that I didn't expect. Aaron has mentioned that the game's visuals are more simple than his other games, but it all feels more polished to me this time around, and more care has been put into everything, things look, sound and feel just right.
Anyway, there were a lot of interesting events happening, multiple stories entwining with one another, there's a shower that you can use any time, you can do a bathroom review if you want, also there's a room with boxes for you PHYYYSSSIIICCSS needs, but in all seriousness the whole game felt immersive and just right. Well done!
Thank you so much for being one of the first people to play it. Your support means the world to me. Thank you for the kind words and I am glad you liked it :)
